About the work
Renacimiento means "rebirth" in Spanish. A dense crowd of small figures, seen from above, spreads across a scratched and layered ground of grey, khaki and ochre. Dark smudges gather around the bodies, with small flecks of blue, yellow and red. The crowd thickens towards the lower half, where the figures press closer together.
The painting belongs to Stolen Time, where the body appears in collective form, one figure among many.
