About the work
A large wave curls across the canvas, its crest of white foam bursting near the top centre. Long, fast strokes of navy, ultramarine and pale blue sweep in from the left, and white spatters fly out to the right. Above, the background is streaked in vertical blues.
La Ola means “the wave”. In Agua, water never keeps a fixed form, and here it is caught at the moment of breaking.
