About the work
Sweeping strokes and fine splashes run diagonally across the canvas, from turquoise and pale blue on the left into deep violet on the right. Bright white bursts break out along the centre, as if light were catching on moving water.
Nothing here has a fixed edge, and the whole surface seems to move, as water does throughout the Agua series.
About the series
“Water has been with us from the beginning; we are water in motion. Its stillness is not absence, but attention.”
