About the work

A seabed seen from above, two metres tall: shells, pebbles and loose tangles of blue and violet weed lie scattered across a pale field of sand-coloured paint, as if the tide has just drawn back. There are no figures here. The surface itself carries the memory of water.

Painted in Barcelona in 2024, Recuerdos de Agua was shown the following year in La Sombra de Cervantes at the Instituto Cervantes in Algiers, alongside works from Like a Rolling Stone.

About the series

“Water has been with us from the beginning; we are water in motion. Its stillness is not absence, but attention.”
