About the work
A strip of blue water with white surf runs along the top edge. Below it, a crowd spreads across a smoky ground of brown, ochre and rust, with black bulls moving among the figures and translucent circles and small white rings floating over the scene.
The earth tones belong to the earlier palette of Like a Rolling Stone. The crowd seems to pull up towards the shoreline, in the ascending movement of the series.
About the series
“Movement, interconnected bodies, human structures that somehow make the spectator part of it. I work with layers of colour, like skin, looking for depth and almost always with ascendant movement.”
