About the work
Only a few figures are scattered here, far fewer than in most of Like a Rolling Stone. Each is a small cluster of white, pale blue and pink strokes, ringed by a soft halo. The ground is worn and textured, grey over ochre, with a faded patch of red in the upper left and a large muted circle just above centre.
With open space between them, the figures stand apart from one another, in keeping with the title.
