About the work
Deep crimson and pink cover the canvas in layered washes. Left of centre, a large dark red oval spreads like a stain. Small figures seen from above gather in clusters around it, and a looser band of them runs across the lower half, scattered with white flecks.
Strawberry Fields belongs to the most recent stage of Like a Rolling Stone, where the earth tones of the early paintings have given way to bold reds.
About the series
“Movement, interconnected bodies, human structures that somehow make the spectator part of it. I work with layers of colour, like skin, looking for depth and almost always with ascendant movement.”
