About the work
Zezen is Basque for “bull”. Seen from above, small figures run and scatter across a hazy ground of ochre, olive and soft blue, while two black bulls move through the crowd. Translucent circles drift among them like bubbles or lenses, and a long arc cuts across the upper corner of the canvas.
The bull returns again and again in Like a Rolling Stone. Here, on a large square canvas painted in Barcelona in 2026, the crowd seems to rise up and away from it, in the ascending movement that runs through the series.
