About the work
Small figures in white and blue are scattered thinly across a field of olive and ochre, then gather into a denser crowd along the lower edge. Pale rings of pink, green and white sit among them, and faint honeycomb textures show through the paint at the sides.
The Spanish title means "sediments of light". Where much of Luces y Sombras is built from black and grey, here the light seems to settle across the whole surface.
About the series
“Amid games of light and shadow, such as those in Luces y sombras, which open up fissures through which one can breathe deeply, colour itself also becomes a matter to move through.”
