About the work
On this small canvas, figures seen from above, with white shoulders and dark or plum-coloured bodies, stand and walk across a pinkish ground. Behind them, patches of turquoise, green and mustard are combed into fine ripples, and faint marks like printed text show through in places.
Poemas de Agua means "water poems", and in this series the crowd begins to behave like water. The rippled marks bring that water into the ground itself.
About the series
“A rhythm that does not necessarily coincide with visible movement, but with the relationship between figures and territory, with the dynamism of water and plants.”
Raffaella De Chirico, gallerist, catalogue essay, 2026
