About the work
On this small canvas the figures are close. About ten of them, seen from above in white shirts and dark trousers, stride across a ground of ochre and green. The paint is thick and textured, and faint printed letters show through on the left.
Poemas de Agua means “water poems”. In this series the crowd starts to behave like water, and here its few figures move loosely together, like a current.
About the series
“A rhythm that does not necessarily coincide with visible movement, but with the relationship between figures and territory, with the dynamism of water and plants.”
Raffaella De Chirico, gallerist, catalogue essay, 2026
