About the work
Greens dominate here, from dark olive to bright lime, worked into tangles of leaf, stem and small flower shapes. A patch of pale blue opens at the upper left, and a single orange flower sits near it. Rings and small circles are pressed into the surface, and the oil and resin give it a raised, layered texture in places.
The Secret Life of Plants grows from botanical tangles. This one is greener than the deep reds and pinks seen elsewhere in the series.
About the series
“I am interested in finding structures within things that initially appear to have none, structures that can give me a starting point from which to paint, experiment and continue.”
