The Secret Life of Plants is Ima Montoya’s newest series. Botanical tangles spread across the canvas in deep reds and pinks, greens and near-black grounds, with seed heads, blooms and thick, crusted surfaces.
The series shares its title with a 2024 painting from Crossing Water, now in the collection of Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas.
