About the work
Dark plum and black form the ground, and clusters of crimson and pink, made of small looping marks, float across it. Fine red lines stream between them, mostly from left to right, like threads pulled by a current.
The deep reds and tangled, floral clusters belong to The Secret Life of Plants, Ima Montoya's newest series.
About the series
“I am interested in finding structures within things that initially appear to have none, structures that can give me a starting point from which to paint, experiment and continue.”
